Jennifer Harman is widely considered the best woman poker player ever to play the game and her stats back up this claim. Harman has won two WSOP gold bracelets and has over $2,000,000 in career tournament cash prizes to her name. On top of this she can often be found playing in the big game at the Bellagio with many of the best male players alive today.
Harman learned poker from an early age, as she would often play take her dad’s place playing with his friends if he was stuck for the night. She would often win back most of his money or even make him a profit. Harman eventually outgrew her father’s home games and started playing live poker at the local casino at 16 with a fake ID. She would lose more than she won at first, but she continued to improve and now she is a role model for women poker players everywhere.
Jennifer graduated from University with a degree in biology, but instead of looking for a job in her field she decided to move to Los Angeles and start bartending. It wasn’t long before the money and excitement of professional poker took her away from bartending for good. Harman played a lot of cash games through the 1990’s often going broke, but she always managed to build back a substantial bankroll. In 2000 Harman really made a statement in the poker world when she won the 2-7 lowball tournament at the WSOP. In 2002, Harman won another and she is still trying for her third at the present time.
Jennifer Harman has become a living legend in the poker world, but she has had her fair share of struggles throughout her life. Harman has had to have two kidney transplants in her lifetime and with her new found fame and fortune Harman recently founded CODA, which stands for Creating Organ Donation Awareness. Harman is a full member of Team Full Tilt and you can find her playing at the online tables on occasion.
