Mini-FTOPS XIII Results & A Surprise
September 22, 2009
Last Sunday was the finale of two major poker events, only one of which took place at Full Tilt, but both of which involved Full Tilt players.
The first is the winner of the Mini-FTOPS XIII, an event that drew some 14,000 entrants, whittled down to noitall611 who had made a deal to chop the pot with Kanemochi (aka McFugu) when they went into heads-up play. Kanemochi won the larger share of the pot ($94,076) while noitall611 won the Mini-FTOPS XIII Main Event title and the smaller ($89,982) share of the pot.
Kanemochi is the same player who came in 10th place in the Party Poker Million in May '09 and then made it to the final table of the Titan Poker $250,000 a couple of months later.
The other noteworthy achievement was Yevgeniy Timoshenko's win of the main event at the PokerStars 2009 WCOOP that started last Sunday and ended Monday. Why note that here? Because the same day he nailed that big title (and $1,715,200), he also simultaneously won the Full Tilt Monday $1K for $75,000 more.
Take 2 Times the FTPs for Playing 2 Cash Games at Once
September 9, 2009
Full Tilt Poker's latest promotion is called Take 2 for good reason - because it's got two parts.
First, Full Tilt is giving players double the Full Tilt Points for double-tabling - that's multi-tabling at any two cash ring tables at the same time, throughout the month of September. It's an excellent way to notch up those FTPs fast, without doing anything other than continuing to play at your favorite cash tables at FullTilt.
Secondly, if you keep doing this, day after day, for enough days in a row, you could win a bonus of up to $50. The progressive Take 2 bonus starts once you've played on two tables simultaneously for 5 consecutive days - earning you $5. Continue like this for a full 25 days consecutively and win the whole $50 bonus.
The Take 2 promotion is running now over at Full Tilt Poker through one minute before midnight on September 30.
Dwan Up, Aiken Down – Full Tilt Player Update
August 29, 2009
Lots of exciting developments over at Full Tilt Poker.
For starters, it looks like the site has been courting Tom 'durrrr" Dwan of the self-proclaimed Million Dollar Challenge to be one of the next players on its esteemed Team Full Tilt. No word on whether durrrr has any plans of accepting. But if you ask us, he kind of owes it to them. After all, it's on Full Tilt Poker's high-rollers Pot Limit Omaha tables that he's faced off with some of poker toughest competitors (including current November 9 member - Phil Ivey). Howard "The Professor" Lederer, a member of Team Full Tilt, says that "if the price is right" he's sure Dwan will accept.
And in a case of easy-come-easy-go, Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond, who was Full Tilt's second highest money winner last year is currently reported to be down by over 4,000. Just goes to show that the pendulum is always swinging in online poker.

Phil Ivey Makes it to 2009 WSOP Final Table
July 17, 2009
Phil Ivey has made it to the final table of the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event. The Team Full Tilt Poker Pro has 7 WSOP gold bracelets under his belt (2 of which he earned this year), 1 WPT championship, over $12 million in career winnings to date, and is a frequent player in the high-stakes Pot-Limit Omaha ring games at Full Tilt Poker.
Surviving a field of almost 6,500 players in a brutal tournament that lasted 8 days, the Tiger Woods of Poker is one of the 9 remaining players eligible to win the $8.55 million grand prize and immortality in the annals of poker history.
Other Full Tilters to have made it to past year's WSOP Main Event final tables are Lee Watkinson, Allen Cunningham, and Mike Matusow.
Sealed with Event #8 and Event #25, Ivey is now one of just 7 people to have won 7 WSOP bracelets. And if he finishes in the top 7 at November's final table, he'll go down in history as the highest-grossing tournament poker player ever.

FullTilt Takes on Poker Million and Late Night Poker
May 11, 2009
Full Tilt Poker has taken on two new major league tournaments, giving its players two more shots at landing a spot in a big money land-based, broadcast televised tournament.
The two events are the Poker Million (previously hosted by U.K. site, Ladbrokes Poker) and Late Night Poker. Full Tilt Poker will be offering real money qualifiers for each of these evens.
For the Poker Million, the schedule of qualifiers starts with a direct qualifier with a 535 buy-in on August 2nd. Future Poker Million qualifiers will be held on August 30, and September 6, 13, 20, and 27. Each of the $22,000 Poker Million prize packages include the $20,000 buy-in for the big event, and $2,000 spending cash.
For Late Night Poker, Full Tilt hosts its first satellite on June 7, with a $322 buy-in. Future Late Night Poker qualifiers will be held on June 21, and July 5 and 19. Each of the $12,000 Late Night Poker qualifiers include the big event's $10,000 buy-in and $2,000 expense money.
Full Tilt Poker Adds Mike McDonald to Red Pros Team
April 25, 2009
Full Tilt Poker has just added another name to its Full Tilt Red Pro roster. That name belongs to Canadian 20-year-old Mike McDonald (aka "timex").
He finished in 5th place and won $249,000 in the recent €5,000 buy-in, European Poker Tour Dortmund event, the same tournament he won in 2008, for more than $1.3 million.
Ironically enough, despite all his accolades, McDonald still cannot yet participate in the tournament of all tournaments, the World Series of Poker Main Event (or any of its side events, for that matter), because he is not yet of age (though he has promised to be in attendance to witness the extravaganza).
Full Tilt Poker's Red Pros include the star-studded Team Full Tilt - including the likes of Jennifer Harman, Howard Lederer, Gus Hansen, Erick Lindgren, Chris Ferguson, and Phil Ivey - as well as Team Cardrunners, The Hendon Mob, and Full Tilt Pros.
All this is to say that young Mike McDonald is in good company.
FullTilt Series 2009 Satellites for Main Event Plus a Whole Lot More
April 10, 2009
Full Tilt Poker is running a series of promotions--Series 2009, they call it--for entry into 2009 WSOP events, including but not limited to the main event. Headlined by $10 million Main Event Mania, a promotion whereby FullTilt will give the player who wins their way into the WSOP Main Event through Full Tilt Poker and then wins the main event a $10 million bonus on top of the $10 million plus WSOP top prize, the Full Tilt WSOP satellite offerings include a 150 Seat Guarantee, a 100 Seat Giveaway, daily Shootouts, and weekly Cash Qualifiers.
But FullTilt is also sending players to other WSOP events--Event #4, the high-rolling $1,000 buy-in $200K Stimulus Special, in particular, as well as a Race for Bracelets that gives its winners $2,000 good towards buy-in to any 2009 WSOP event other than the main event.
FullTilt Poker will also be running a mini-WSOP alongside the real one, with corresponding events at 100th the stakes than those of their real-world counterparts. Additionally, Full Tilt Poker is hosting a Fantasy Poker series in which players win by picking the 2009 WSOP winnersahead of time.
