Dwan Up, Aiken Down – Full Tilt Player Update

August 29, 2009

Lots of exciting developments over at Full Tilt Poker.

For starters, it looks like the site has been courting Tom 'durrrr" Dwan of the self-proclaimed Million Dollar Challenge to be one of the next players on its esteemed Team Full Tilt. No word on whether durrrr has any plans of accepting. But if you ask us, he kind of owes it to them. After all, it's on Full Tilt Poker's high-rollers Pot Limit Omaha tables that he's faced off with some of poker toughest competitors (including current November 9 member - Phil Ivey). Howard "The Professor" Lederer, a member of Team Full Tilt, says that "if the price is right" he's sure Dwan will accept.

And in a case of easy-come-easy-go, Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond, who was Full Tilt's second highest money winner last year is currently reported to be down by over 4,000. Just goes to show that the pendulum is always swinging in online poker.

FTOPS XIII Means Time to Ante Up For Africa Again

August 13, 2009

Every time the Full Tilt Poker Full Tilt Online Poker Series rolls around, so does the Ante Up For Africa charity tournament that serves as one its highlights. As FTOPS XIII is current in progress, Ante Up For Africa is not for behind.

Coming up this Saturday, August 15 at 1 pm ET for a $100 + $20 buy-in FullTilt will donate 100% of the $20 entry fee to the charity, which supports humanitarian efforts in Darfur. The winners of the collective $100,000 guaranteed prize pool are encouraged (but not required) to donate half their winnings to the charity too.

The event, as always, will be hosted by the actor famous for his roles in "Booogie Nights", "Hotel Rwanda", and "The Traitor", Don Cheadle - who also cofounded Ante Up For Africa in 2007 along with Norman Epstein and Annie Duke, and himself is an avid live poker player.

There was an Ante Up For Africa charity tournament played at the recent 2009 WSOP too, in which Ben Affleck and Matt Damon were among the competitors, that one for a $5,000 buy-in.
