Poker Pros Sweep FullTilt Online Poker Series

February 12, 2009

One of the greatest things about online poker tournaments is that anybody can win. But in the case of this year's FullTilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS XI), it isn't just anybody coming out in the money. It's the professional poker players, wiping the cyber-tables up with all us amateur players' sweat and tears.

Event after event, the poker pros are proving why they deserve their professional poker player status. Cashing out so far this year were familiar names like Erick Lindgren, David Pham, Scott Fischman, and Josh Arieh.

Nearly half of this year's FTOPS XI events completed as of this writing were won by members of the elite poker crew, the PocketFivers, with Zugwat and gboro780 winning the two $1.5 million guaranteed events held so far.

Even those newer names on the scene--those former amateurs who recently earned their pro status--showed their mettle in FTOPS XI events, like Darren Elias who won Event #13. In the past year alone, the player who goes by darrenelias came in 7th place in Event #4 of the 2008 FTOPS X, 3rd place in the 2008 WSOP $1K Monday event, and came out the big winner in August's FullTilt $90,000 guaranteed tournament.
