September 11, 2008

Taking place this past Saturday, September 6, the Full Tilt Poker Heads-Up Pot Limit Omaha Championship delivered a host of suspense and excitement, as a field of just 64 players paid $25,000 for a chance at their share of $1.6 million.

Predictably, almost all the major pro-players on Team FullTilt were among those names to beat, including:
•    Phil Ivey
•    Ben Grundy
•    Andy Bloch
•    Erich Kollmann
•    David Benefield
•    Gus Hansen
•    Chris Ferguson

So was it a poker stars or an unknown home player that takes the top prize of $560,000 and the title of “FullTilt Poker $25,000 Heads Up PLO Champion? Score one for the little guy, as “slaktam” tooks down Patrik Antonius in a nail-biting final all-in hand, pulling a straight on the River. This brings the onine player’s total winnings this year to over $2 million, surely setting him up as a bright new PokerStar in the sky.
